UinD (Uniting Schools for Inclusion and Diversity) is a 30-month, ambitious Cooperation Partnership funded by the Erasmus+ Programme. Our project unites 6 partner organisations from Germany, Türkiye, Portugal, and Greece to address a critical and shared challenge: the successful integration of foreign students into our school communities.
Our core mission is to empower educators and school leaders with the concrete skills, strategies, and tools needed to foster truly inclusive environments where every student can thrive, both culturally and linguistically.

Our Motivation: The "Why"
Our classrooms are more diverse than ever. As immigration rates across Europe steadily increase, our education systems must adapt to this new reality. While this diversity is a great strength, migrant students often face significant and distinct barriers to their success.
Our project is designed to tackle these challenges head-on:
Our project is designed to tackle these challenges head-on:
- Migration-Related Challenges: Many students face disruptions in their education, linguistic obstacles, and difficulties adapting to new cultural norms in the school environment.
- Socio-Economic Barriers: Families may encounter instability, discrimination, and a lack of access to essential resources, which exacerbates educational inequalities.
- Educational Participation: Many students struggle to find a sense of belonging in their schools. This can lead to lower engagement, diminished confidence, and reduced long-term academic and social success.
Our Objectives: The "What"
The UinD project is built on two primary goals:
- To Empower Teachers and School Leaders: We will equip educators with the necessary skills and competencies to effectively manage the cultural and linguistic dimensions of integration, ensuring the entire school community is engaged.
- To Develop Effective Strategies: We will enable teachers and school leaders to design and implement their own successful strategies for supporting the academic, social, and emotional needs of foreign students.
Our Approach: The "How"
Our Expected Results
The UinD project will produce four key tangible results, designed to provide practical, research-based support for educators, school leaders, and policymakers:
- A Compendium of Best Practices: A foundational report documenting successful integration practices in schools, complete with real-world case studies and inspirational videos that showcase effective strategies.
- The UinD Training Programme: A comprehensive, structured training program designed to prepare teachers and school leaders for managing diversity and creating inclusive school practices.
- A Digital Teachers Toolkit: A practical, accessible digital toolkit containing recommendations, strategies, and resources to support educators and school leaders in their daily work.
- A European Charter for Inclusive Education: A high-level document aimed at policymakers , reflecting on the project's findings and providing actionable insights to inform and improve education policy across Europe.
